🎲 The Draft
The draft uses the 2025-26 final table to seed this season's clubs: the top 5 from last season form Tier 1,
and because last season's bottom 3 were relegated, the 3 newly promoted clubs take their place — joining the bottom tier.
All 20 are then split into four tiers, and every tier works the same way: a fresh random pick order
is drawn, then everyone picks a team in that order — so everyone ends up with a balanced squad
of four: one elite, one upper-mid, one lower-mid, one struggler.

Your key is stored only in this browser (localStorage) and is sent straight to api-sports.io — it is never hard-coded into this file or shared. Get a key at dashboard.api-football.com.
Demo data fills every page with a sample squad allocation and made-up results so you can see how the app looks before the season — it runs entirely in this browser and is never saved or shared.

🚦 Rate-limit log
When API-Football's per-minute limit is hit, it's logged here (this browser). Stale = you still saw recent scores from cache; Error = no cached copy was available. Lots of entries means the shared key is being hit hard at peak.
🔧 Diagnostics (draft & team matching)

Note: this sweepstake uses all 20 Premier League teams (5 players × 4), allocated by the tiered draft on the 🎲 Draft tab. Teams are matched to the API by their team ID, so names always line up.
